We will create a self-contained web app rendering and displaying a timeline containing every accomplishment CERN has made since its inception.
In three days we will create a prototype, containing as much data as we have time for. This prototype demontrates the idea and gives an indication how maintainable and extendable we have made it.
There are a couple of ways we can make this
- completely client-side: removing the need for a backend altogether.
this requires a very good web app framework, I'm thinking of the Polymer library - making a docker image:
this gives us full flexibility over our technology stack
for example we can have a database in the backend (couchdb + pouchdb) so people can contribute.

- we need people with an intimate knowledge of CERN's activities for the past 60+ years
- we need designers to make this thing beautiful
- we need people with web application coding knowledge, this will probably be limited to just Polymer and maybe Pouchdb.

Prerequisites:
A lot of these technologies are new, you are not required to have experience with all of them. Previous experience with web app development is a plus. People with knowledge of CERN's accomplishments or with knowledge of resources where to find this is welcome.
