Description
We want to create a website and/or app where visitors can explore all CERN activities and programs that they are eligible to take part in, whether it is visiting CERN, participating in a conference, applying for an internship, or getting a studentship or staff position. This website/app will be a one-stop shop and serve as a gateway to bring people to CERN.
Goals of the project
Immediate Goals:
- collect a list of all CERN programs and recurring activities (including descriptions, application requirements, and deadlines).
- imagine all possible people that might want to engage with CERN.
- create a filtering mechanism that allows individuals to be linked to the relevant CERN programs.
- find appropriate visualisation/display for each of the CERN programs.
- build a prototype website (Wix, Drupal 8, some other free/open source platform).
Long-Term (Stretch) Goals:
- build an Android app.
- build an iOS app.
- get other institutes interested in the idea (INFN, DESY, ESA, etc.).

References and background material
The way people discover CERN programs nowadays is all over the place and the program descriptions are very CERN-centric and alienating ("only member state nationals can apply"). We instead need to focus on the individual who wants to engage with CERN, and show them the programs that are relevant for THEM!
